Welcome Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach, Mark Unzueta to Madera College Athletics.
Madera Community College is thrilled to announce the launch of its Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams for the 2024 season. The teams will be led by newly appointed head coach Mark Unzueta, whose extensive experience and enthusiasm are set to energize the program.
Mark has been a part of the Madera community as a teacher and coach at Matilda Torres High School. He is a valley native who was born and raised in Lemoore, California. He attended Fresno State and earned his master’s degree in Kinesiology 2007. Mark was the director of Cross Country for 11-years at West Hills College Lemoore and has been coaching Track and Field at Fresno City College since 2005.
Mark is excited to be Madera College’s first Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country coach and is looking forward to recruiting some of the valley’s top runners from Madera and the surrounding areas.
The team will be competing in the Crush Invitational September 6th at Woodward Park in Fresno. Community members are encouraged to come out and support the Mountain Lions as they begin this exciting new chapter in their athletic history.
